summer weekend adventures recap.

it is official summer has finally come to an end, though i didn't get to lay by the pool as much as i had hoped the summer was jam packed with great trips and lots of memories. here is a little recap for everyone of our summer highlights.


may 13th bought my wedding dress!! sorry no photos, those are under lock and key : )
may 21st we got out engagement photos taken at the breath taking national cathedral in dc. following the earthquakes on august 23rd however, the national cathedral was closed due to structural damage. i am so happy to have photos of this beautiful landmark.

may 27th- 30th: memorial day weekend my brother and sister in-law came to visit for the weekend, which was full of the ncaa lacrosse national championships in baltimore, visiting mount vernon and heading down town to check out the sites.

june 2-5th: surprise birthday trip for my mom! i couldn't believe how shocked my mom was to see us walk into a cute little resturant on the side of a mountain just outside of sedona, her reaction was priceless. overall, this was one of my favorite trips of all time.

june 24th-26th my parents came to visit for wedding appointments. we had an amazing time, eating ourselves silly during our tasting for the reception. we spent the remainder to their time, visiting annapolis and treating them to a sail boat trip for the day.

july 1st-4th:independence day weekend. we headed to deep creek lake to our good friend's parents house for the long weekend, where we enjoyed boating on the lake, white water rafting, drinking, and great food.

august 5th-7th: berekley springs. we headed to the wild and wonderful state of west virginia for our 2nd annual river trip. this year did not disappoint, even the rain couldn't keep us from enjoying ourselves.

august 20th: fishing trip. for matt's birthday weekend, we charted a fishing boat to go rock fishing on the chesapeake. it was a great time and worth waking up at 4 am.

september 1st- 5th: labor day weekend. though i don't yet have pictures (because i forgot my camera) once a few get posted i will be sure to share them.  we spent this past weekend, in raleigh for two nights and then at smith mountain lake for sunday night.  we had a great time catching up with great friends from jmu! we need to all get together more often.
