earth day.

in honor of earth day i will be upgrading my camelbak water bottle to the new Groove™ which has a built in water filter.

when people think of being green i think they automatically think of the extreme, a whole lifestyle change, and though that may be true for some it is not realistic for all. if we all do a few little things to change how we live, we will make a big difference, over the past year we have made two minor changes; we no longer buy disposable plastic water bottles and we use reusable grocery bags. these minor and painless changes work for matt and i, today in honor of earth day stop and think about two easy changes you can make that will have a BIG impact on our earth.

interesting facts.
  • Americans throw away 25,000,000,000 Styrofoam coffee cups every year
  • Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour, most of them are thrown away
  • The average American office worker uses about 500 disposable cups every year
  • Every year, Americans use approximately 1 billion shopping bags, creating 300,000 tons of landfill waste
  • Plastic bags and other plastic garbage thrown into the ocean kill as many as 1,000,000 sea creatures every year
